  1. the question might make more sense if you got the lyrics right.

  2. The speaker is supposedly driving down Rodeo drive in Beverly Hills Ca. With a shotgun, presumably to commit drive-by shootings of rich white people.

He claims that the rich white people in that neighborhood have not seen a black man (project man - person from the housing projects) since their "grandparents bought one" presumably accusing the rich white people's grandparents of being slave owners.

I doubt many of the people in Beverly Hills have grandparents, - or actually it would be great-great-great-grandparents - who were from agricultural backgrounds in the South, and thus I doubt any of their ancestors ever owned a slave in the first place. Slaves were for the most part forced to be Southern agricultural workers.

The rich in L.A. mostly came from Upper East Coast roots and their ancestors likely fought on the Union side of the civil war to END slavery.

Add to that the fact that many rich black actors and musicians own mansions in Beverly hills, and this lyric makes even less sense.

  3. actually its, "So now im rollin down rodeo with a shotgun, these people aint seen a brown skinned man since they grandparents bought one!"

And its referring to a black dude rollin down rodeo with a shotgun, most likely in an act of revolution, while the mostly white and materialistic society goes on about their daily life like slavery never happened.

God i miss Rage Against The Machine.

  4. This cracker doesnt have any white guilt....

  5. Think it means he wants to shoot rich folks.  That they haven't seen a person from the "other side" of the tracks since thier grandparents owned slaves.

  6. Rodeo is a rich part of Los Angeles.

Grandparents of the rich kids in LA owned Mexican and African slaves back when it was acceptable.

He's talking bout gettin a gun and shooting up the preppy place, all the houses, streets and people.

"These people aint seen a BROWN SKINNED man since their grandparents bought one"

  7. gawd knows

  8. Yeah something like that.   They did make great music, but I didn't care much for Zack de la Rocha's leftist lyrics.    Tom Morello rocks though.

  9. It's a way to try and make white people of today feel sorry for somthing that white people from the past did. "White guilt" brought on by white people owning slaves in the past when none of us were alive. It's a good thing I realized how bullshitty that is, us feeling guilty for somthing we were never involved in that is.

How odd that people are still bitching about slavery in America and yet just shrug with all the slavery going on in other countries right now. Even in African countries.
