Question:

Rolling in bed?

my five month old baby has started rolling over and is doing it in bed. it's ok but he keeps getting his arms and legs trapped between the bars so i don't want to leave him incase he hurts himself. which means standing over him, but he won't sleep if im looking ay him or in the room. what should i do?

  1. um...get a different cot?  I actually had those cot bumper things - but I think they're frowned on now - worked for me!


  2. Put bumber pads around the crib.  They sell mesh ones or you can put the regular pillow ones up.  Make sure they are secure.

  3. drape a blanket over the bars, use pillows to cover them, or you could have him laying so that when he rolls he'll roll the long way, hope that made sense :] good luck though congrats on your baby

  4. They have crib bumpers that are made from mesh, so they cannot get their arms and legs through, and they cannot suffocate if they roll into it face first.

  6. make sure your floor is clean and put him to sleep on the floor.  He can roll all he wants.  Of course there is a lot of things to check before leaving a baby anywhere but if you're careful he will be fine.  It sounds like the bed may not be regulation but you will have to check with a safety website
