Zdenek Zeman’s outfit are close to signing the highly rated striker; Destro has attracted interest from Juve and Inter as well but Genoa concede Roma are closest.
New arrival of a manager always has some repercussions, with some players making their way into the squad and some moving away from the club. Destro had been linked to AS Roma, however, it was understood that the Giallorossi were short on funds to make a
move for the Azzurrini star.
After offloading http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 after a fee was agreed between the two clubs; it is reported that the
fee was worth 14 million Euros, which would be enough to lure Destro away from Siena and Genoa.
Mattia Destro is currently co-owned by the Robur and the Grifone, and a move for the former Inter Milan striker is expected to be completed soon enough. The valuation of the player is reported to be around 12 million Euros, with interest coming from various
clubs, including the likes of Juventus, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan and AC Milan.
Destro was on loan at Siena for the previous season and there was a clause in the contract which allowed the Robur to own 50 per cent of the registration rights of the player. Genoa are looking to buy back the 50 per cent from the Tuscan outfit.
The Grifone Chief Executive Officer, Pietro Lo Monaco was talking to a radio channel named Radio Mana Mana, and went on to state:
“In the eventuality that Genoa manage to sign him back from Siena, then I can say with some certainty that Roma moved early and very well for the player.”
He further went on to state the Stadio Olimpico outfit had been proactive in their interest in the Italian U-21 player, and Lo Monaco went on to opine that the situation with the Tuscan and Marassi outfit would be resolved in this week. He was quoted to
have said:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 have taken the steps they feel necessary and I hope that we can resolve the situation with Siena at some stage this week.”
AS Roma are keen to add more strength in their attack to improve their league standings in the upcoming campaign.
