Roma fans want http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniele-De-Rossi-c10112 to stay at the club
This Saturday, fans of the Serie A side AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 gathered around the Trigoria training complex in a bid to persuade the Italian international to stay at the club after recent speculation suggested that the 27-year-old will be leaving the club by the end of the season.
According to reports, La Liga giants Real Madrid and Premier League leaders Manchester United are considering a move for the midfielder. Manchester United are thought to be long-term admirers of the player. With the club about to change ownership and struggling to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the next season, it is believed that the 27-year-old Italian is looking to move on to a new cub where he will get a chance to play at the top level and also compete for major silverware.
Furthermore, the idea of staging a public plea to make Rossi stay was initially started through the social networking site, Facebook, and it is believed that the fans will do so again if the need arises. Currently, the Roman giants occupy sixth place in the Serie A with 50 points and face an uphill task to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international’s shoes, and Daniele de Rossi is being tipped as the perfect replacement.
De Rossi is a product of the famed Roma youth system. The player has been an integral part of the Lupi since making his debut against Anderlecht in the UEFA Champions League. He has already made 244 appearances for the Giallorossi and in 2006, won the FIFA World Cup with Italy where the Azzurri beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 in the final.
If De Rossi decides to leave the club at the end of this season, it will definitely come as a major blow for the capital club that is currently in a phase of transition. Moreover, Philippe Mexes is already going to leave the club at the end of this season after the Frenchman declined a contract renewal offer. Fellow Frenchman Jeremy Menez’s future is also in doubt as the attacker is looking for pastures greener, with Juventus FC showing strong interest. The loss of De Rossi, should that happen, will not help the club in any way as new owner, Thomas DiBenedetto, would be looking to keep hold of the star players at the club as he looks to mount new heights with the eternal Roman club.
