Italian outfit, A.S Roma, are reportedly preparing a €20-million bid to sign Espanyol striker, Pablo http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Osvaldo-c28821.
The striker has been subject of huge interest from several clubs throughout the summer transfer window after a wonderful 2010/11 season with the Spanish side. The 25-year-old had a fantastic campaign and scored 13 goals in 24 appearances
for the Parakeets.
Tottenham Hotspur and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 were reportedly interested in signing him this summer but they were out-priced for a deal. It is reported that Atletico Madrid and Roma have entered the race to sign the former Italian U-21 international
and are reportedly preparing an offer.
The agent confirmed of the interest from both teams and claimed that his client is open to a move to either of them. However, he ruled out the price tag of €20-million and believes a lesser amount could land the player.
Talking to the reporters the agent said, “A market duel between Atletico Madrid and AS Roma? I can only say that the interest is very strong from both clubs, who have submitted their offers to us.”
“In football everything changes very quickly, so it is useless to speak on the basis of feelings. A price of 20million euros? I don’t think it is correct to speak about figures, I never did it.”
Roma are in desperate need of a new striker to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nilmar-c28044, and are
locked in negotiations with the Spanish side. The two clubs have not yet reached an agreement over the transfer fee for the Brazilian but a deal seems very close from completion.
Enrique has reportedly identified Osvaldo as a standby should his move for Nilmar fails to materialize. Roma have also signed striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and are looking to add adequate cover in the attacking department.
Roma will start their 2010/11 campaign with a UEFA Europa League Preliminary round game against Slovan Bratislava on August 18th, 2011.
