A deal has been struck between Clermont Foot and Rennais for the signature of Romain Alessandrini who enjoyed a terrific season in Ligue 2
It was expected that Romain Alessandrini would sign for Sochaux but in the end Stade Rennais have landed the midfielder for a fee of 2 million Euros.
Alessandrini enjoyed an excellent 2011/2012 season in Ligue 2 that saw him being linked with several Ligue 1 clubs in winter. However, the player remained faithful to his club and decided to finish the season at Stade http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-c14281 Montpied.
Excellent form of the 23-year-old was influential in the success of Clermont Foot in Ligue 2. Clermont FC failed to finish the season in podium position that deprived them of promotion to Ligue 1. It was expected that after failing to win promotion, Alessandrini
would leave the club in order to play for a side in Ligue 1.
According to reports, Alessandrini was about to sign for Sochaux but negotiations broke down and Rennais took advantage of the situation and jumped in the race to sign the midfielder. And now it has been confirmed that the youngster has signed a contract
with Rennais FC and it is expected that the Frenchman will flourish in Ligue 1 next season.
St. Etienne and Nice were also in the race for the signature of Alessandrini. However, Rennais have beaten them as player favoured a move to Les Rouges et Noirs.

23-year-old made 33 appearances for Clermont Foot in 2011/2012 campaign. Alessandrini managed to score 11 goals in the process. However, it was not his goals only but his overall play that caught the attention of several top clubs.
