Romain Grosjean believes Lotus can achieve great things in the season ahead – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has said that they can surely achieve great things in the season ahead if they keep on working hard.
Grosjean took a struggling start to this season and could only secure 10th place finish in the season opener held at Albert Park in Melbourne after taking a start from 8th grid position. Later, in the Malaysian Grand Prix, he performed
reasonably well and managed to secure 6th place finish after qualifying for 11th grid slot. He again faced difficulties in the Chinese GP and could only score two points with his 9th place finish after setting off from 6th
grid place.
Nevertheless, he showed a remarkable performance behind the wheel of his updated car in the Bahrain GP and secured an incredible third podium finish after starting from 11th grid position.
After attaining his first podium of the season, the French driver has gained a lot of confidence. He has stated that they are now confidently looking forward to compete well with their rivals in order to make their position stronger in this year’s championship
fight.
In addition, he said that they have successfully managed to resolve their issues which they faced during the start of the season. Besides, he asserted that they can attain great things in the season ahead if they keep on making the necessary development
in their car on the same pace.
“We've had consistency already, finishing every race in the points, but now it's the big results we're chasing and getting car as I want it has been a vital ingredient,” he said. “Now I have the tools that I want at my disposal I can really push. In some
ways you can say my season starts now! My podium in Bahrain was very good start to that challenge. If we keep working the way we have been so far this season as a team I'm sure we can achieve great things.”
Presently, the 27-year-old is standing at 7th place in the drivers’ championship with 26 points. Furthermore, he is ahead of Paul di Resta of Force India and behind his main opponent, Felipe Massa of Ferrari. It will be thrilling to see how he
shows up in the Spanish GP at Circuit de Catalunya on May 12, 2013.
