Romain Grosjean believes that he will be able to perform in Valencia – Formula 1 news
Romain Grosjean thinks that he has moved closer to being able to deliver throughout the weekend and will be able to challenge for victory at Valencia.
Lotus has done well in 2012 and are looking to improve with each passing race. Lotus was not able to win or secure a podium finish in the previous year, but they have been able to secure four podium finishes so far and are looking very close to record a
win as well.
The season has been an unpredictable one. There have been seven different winners in the season so far and teams like Williams, Sauber and Lotus have been able to do really well. Williams won a Grand Prix when Pastor Maldonado won the Spanish GP. Sauber
driver Sergio Perez came close to wins twice as he finished second during the Malaysian GP.
“I'm happily surprised by how the season is going,” Grosjean said. “The team made a good car which is mandatory to be able to achieve some good results, and then we did some good races. I'm working very hard with my engineer to get the best relationship
together, to understand each other very well. I think it was Barcelona where I said that we did a step forward, maybe Canada another one and with these small steps when you put one with the other then you are more ready to get the perfect weekend and then
for the win.”
He was asked specifically about his chances of victory in Valencia, Grosjean remained modest and tried to play down expectations.
He added that predicting your chances prior to the race is difficult. Unless you go and perform at the Practice run and do well in the qualifying it is hard to tell how well a driver can perform during the race. Still on paper the team looks really good
and the hope is to remain in points try to go for the win. The weather conditions are hot and that is another plus for the team.
It will be interesting to see how Grosjean performs at Valencia.
