Romain Grosjean expresses happiness over his Silverstone performance – Formula 1 news
Romain Grosjean says that he is happy with the result of the race.
Grosjean started the race placed 10th although he could have started from a higher position but a qualifier incident caused his car to spin and he dropped to 10th.
Yet Grosjean drover extremely well to move up in the race especially when he had to pit after the third lap of the race as his car was tweaked for a rainy race. He also had to get his front wing changed causing a ten second pit stop.
“I'm happy with my race today. Unfortunately I had an incident on the first corner at the start of the race where I was on outside of Lewis [Hamilton] and had a Force India that hit me and broke my front wing. That's when I thought that our race was going
to be seriously compromised, which it would have been if the rain had come,” he said. “We both scored good points for the team, so it's been a good day.”
The Swiss came out of the pits placed way down the order in the race but worked skilfully to move ahead of the pack and finish his race at sixth place ahead of Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton and behind his teammate Kimi Raikkonen.
Team principal Eric Boullier admitted the weekend was a difficult one because of the weather conditions but he is happy with the result. The team still has room for improvement especially in starting positions. He said while the car showed pace and quality
on a different track and conditions it was able to yield good results.
There is still work to be done with the car and the team is working on it. It is frustrating to see the car do so well yet the knowledge that there is something missing to get that performance of the car right up there with the leaders of the grid.
