Romain Grosjean feels contended with his team’s progress in the season so far – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has said that he is feeling contended with the progress which his team has made in 2012 Formula 1 season so far.
The Enstone based team is certainly one of the most competitive contenders in this year’s championship fight. They had the most successful pre-season testing programme this year and have got all what it takes to be considered as the top class team.
At present, they are standing at third place in the constructors’ championship with 126 points. Moreover, they are 4 points ahead of Ferrari and 11 points behind McLaren.
Besides, Grosjean and his teammate, Kimi Raikkonen has performed quite convincingly in the season so far. The French driver is currently standing at 7th position in the drivers’ championship with 53 points. Additionally, he is 20 points behind
Raikkonen and 4 points ahead of Jenson Button of McLaren.
Meanwhile, the Finnish driver is at 6th place in the drivers’ rankings and is just 2 points behind Nico Rosberg of Mercedes.
Although, they have not been able to claim victory in the season until now, however, Grosjean said that he is very much pleased with the performance of his team and they are trying their best to keep on making the substantial advancements for the approaching
races.
“If they had told me I was going for two podiums in first seven races I would have signed straight away, so I think we are happily surprised with car. We are trying to get best of everything we have,” he said. “If you work in good atmosphere, it gives you
extra power to work more. We have been working, we have been always there, always at front, always fighting for good positions, now we are trying to get extra bit to go for the win. If we keep working as well, doing and learning, then we can get it.”
Above and beyond, they are confidently looking forward to perform well in the British GP which is to be held at Silverstone Circuit on July 8 and it will be quite exciting to see how the season progresses for all the contenders.
