Romain Grosjean focuses to get rid of stupid mistakes in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has said that he is focusing to get rid of his stupid mistakes in the 2013 Formula 1 season so as to attain good results for his team.
Grosjean has been considered as one of the most talented young drivers in the field. He rejoined the sport with the Enstone based team in this season and performed impressively well in the opening few races of this season.
However, he failed to score points with consistency and faced immense criticism over his harsh driving style due to which many accidents happened.
On the other hand, his teammate, Kimi Raikkonen showed admirable consistency throughout the season and secured third position in the drivers’ championship behind Fernando Alonso of Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing.
Nevertheless, the Frenchman is not feeling disappointed and is positively looking forward to perform well in the next season.
In addition, he said that he has learnt a lot from his mistakes in this season which will hopefully help him in performing well in the next year. Additionally, he expressed his gratitude towards his team which has always supported him in every kind of circumstances.
“There were some tough moments, some sleepless nights,” Grosjean was quoted saying by AFP. “I had a lot of discussions with the team's owners, which were constructive and allowed us to make progress.”
“We have been working together since September in order to make progress because I did not want to wait till the end of the season,” he said.
Besides, he said that he is aiming to improve his pace in the next season by eliminating his mistakes as he is no more a rookie in the sport.
“There are lots of things that I am trying to improve on, because I am no longer a rookie, I no longer have the right to make clearly stupid mistakes, which were 100 percent my fault,” he added.
Additionally, the 26-year-old has said that his target is to score points with consistency in the coming season in order to be able to attain competitive position in the championship.
