Romain Grosjean hopes for improvement in the Chinese Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Romain Grosjean is hoping that the Chinese Grand Prix goes normally for him.
The Lotus car has shown good promise in the pre-season tests. The pace and reliability of the car is not in question but the young drive has not been able have a normal race so far.
The season opening race In Australia saw Grosjean retire in the first lap of the race and did not fare any better in Malaysia either. Kimi Raikkonen his teammate has not been living up to his expectations but still has done a fair job.
Grosjean is a good driver there is no doubt about that, but he will need to refocus and try to finish the races without any incidents, and only then will he be able to come up with better results.
The young Lotus driver said that his season will probably start in China suggesting that he is hoping to start fresh and make the best of the season from there onwards.
“We can certainly say that we have good performance from the car,” he told Lotus’ official website. “We've got through to Q3 at both races so the car is performing very well. We were able to fight for the front row in qualifying and the pace in the race
is very good. In China I hope we can have a more standard race with everything in order with regards to the start, the race - and not a crazy amount of water on track as we did at Sepang - and we can finally achieve the good result which we are capable of.”
He added that when the drivers make a mistake the first step is to admit that it was a mistake on your part, and then you have to analyse why was it that you made the mistake. Sometimes it is not the person’s fault and that is understandable. The first two
races of the season have been tough but the whole team is confident of some positive results as the season progresses.
It will be interesting to see how Grosjean fares in China the Grand Prix is scheduled for April 15, 2012.
