Romain Grosjean hopes to come up stronger in the 2013 German Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has said that he is hoping to come up stronger in the 2013 German Grand Prix despite being unable to score even a single point in the British GP.
Grosjean performed convincingly well in the qualifying at the Silverstone circuit and successfully made his way into the final session. He efficiently managed to secure 7th grid slot for the race. However, he could not make the most out of his
qualifying performance in the race as his front wing was broken. Resultantly, he failed to score any points and came 19th.
“I think it was circumstance, because clearly at Silverstone we saw Kimi going up to P2 before the safety car and being unfortunate with the last pit stop,” Grosjean said. “I think my performance was as good as him until we got front wing damage, so I think
we should have been both up there scoring good points, but again it didn't want to come together.”
“Qualifying was really good and the race was really good until front wing broke, we lost a lot of performance and then from there everything was gone,” he said.
Nevertheless, he said that he is not feeling upset over his result in the preceding race and is confidently looking forward to perform well in the season ahead.
“I'm doing my best and hopefully things will come together,” he added.
In addition, he stated that they are trying their best to make the necessary developments in their car so as to enhance its pace to compete well with their rivals in the season ahead.
Currently, he is standing at 9th place in the drivers’ championship with 26 points. Additionally, he is ahead of Jenson Button of McLaren and behind Paul di Resta of Force India.
In contrast, his teammate, Kimi Raikkonen is standing at third place in the drivers’ championship with 98 points. Furthermore, he is ahead of Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes and behind his major opponent, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
It will be thrilling to see how the Frenchman and the Finn perform in this weekend’s race at Nurburgring.
