Romain Grosjean plans stronger second half of 2012 Formula 1 season – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has said that he is planning to perform even better in the second half of the 2012 Formula 1 season.
Grosjean is taking part in his first full F1 season and has performed amazingly well for his team in the first eleven grands prix. Moreover, he has secured three podiums in the season so far and is standing at 8th place in the drivers’ championship.
Even though, he said that he has not set any kind of goals about where he wants to be at the end of the current season, however, he said that he is aiming to perform well in the forthcoming races and is targeting to beat the two drivers, Jenson Button of
McLaren and Nico Rosberg of Mercedes.
It is to be noted that although the Enstone has been deemed as one of the most competent contenders in this year’s championship fight but unfortunately they have not been able to score any race win in the season until now.
Nevertheless, the French driver has said that they have got the potential to claim victories in the upcoming races while he said that his main objective is to deliver his best in the remaining nine races.
“I'm just taking it race by race,” Grosjean said. “It's very tight with myself, Jenson and Nico all covered by only two points and there's no reason why we can't keep climbing higher. It was good to be back on the podium before the break and I think we've
got a better chance than ever to win races, so let's aim for more in the second part of the season.”
Additionally, he said that they can achieve their first victory of the current season in the Belgian GP as he believes that Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps really suits their car.
“The interesting device! If it gives me an advantage I'm certainly looking forward to driving with it! I'm sure it will be a good thing, especially if we have it working well,” he added.
It will be thrilling to see how he shows up in the upcoming races.
