Romain Grosjean says he is optimistic of good results at the Hungarian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Romain Grosjean has said that he is optimistic of another front running performance for the team at the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix.
Grosjean has had a good year so far, he has been able to do much better than was expected of him earlier in the season. The Frenchman still has not been able to record his maiden win but has been able to come close to it.
Grosjean believes that the twisty Hungaroring will be well suited to the strength of the Lotus car. He said that the car has shown strong results in slower tracks this season.
“It can be a good weekend for us and the circuit has similar characteristics to Montreal and Monaco, where we were competing quite well,” said the Frenchman. “We are bringing some small upgrades to every race and here there are some more. It is a small amount
each time, but each time a little bit plus a little bit makes a larger amount. So we have some small updates that should help us and I think we understand the Lotus quite well. It should be better for us and if we can have a good balance for qualifying then
we can have a good race.”
He added that it will be another race and another circuit which is going to be a bit different but the team had a very disappointing time at Hockenheim. He is ready to put that all behind him and move forward plus it all adds to your learning curve. The
positive is that the car is good and the team can make an effort to get a good result at Budapest.
Grosjean added that he will not be testing out the double DRS system introduced by the team in Germany. Kimi Raikkonen will be responsible for testing out the double DRS system.
So far, the team has only been able to modify the chassis on one car and as Grosjean had the previous update on his car Raikkonen is going to get the double DRS update this time around.
It will be interesting to see how the Frenchman fares at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
