Romain Grosjean says he is returning to the season stronger than ever – Formula 1 news
Romain Grosjean has been of great value to the Lotus team as the young driver has more than proved his worth in the current season.
The Swiss driver has been able to match up to his veteran teammate Kimi Raikkonen in the current season and has been brilliant in some of the races in the season promising a lot of potential for the future.
Lotus have done well in the current season much better than they expected initially admitted by their team principal Eric Boullier and that is down the good drivers the team has for this season. Grosjean and Raikkonen have ably supported each other and the
team.
Grosjean has been hurt by his retirements a lot so far, otherwise he could have secured a lot more points and a better standing in the drivers’ championship.
It will be imperative for the Swiss to remain consistent for the remainder of the season in order to help his team and gain a better position in the Constructors’ Championship.
Grosjean is going to join the F1 season coming fresh off a honeymoon trip having married TV presenter Marion Jolles recently. Grosjean said that he is returning to the season stronger than ever.
Talking about his season so far and ahead Grosjean said, “I’m just taking it race by race. It’s very tight with myself, Jenson [Button] and Nico [Rosberg] all covered by only two points and there’s no reason why we can’t keep climbing higher. It was good
to be back on the podium before the break and I think we’ve got a better chance than ever to win races, so let’s aim for more in the second part of the season.”
He added, “I’ve been fighting with world champions and I’m pretty happy with where I am. However, I will never be complacent and I’ll try to be a better driver at every single race.”
Lotus are only one point behind McLaren in the constructors and Raikkonen has already showed his intent on contending for the drivers’ title, it would be best for the team and Grosjean’s future if he can support them while moving up the list of drivers in
the current season.
