Romain Grosjean says he will do his best for Renault’s 2012 race seat – Formula 1 news
GP2 Series driver Romain Grosjean has said that he will do his best for Formula 1 Lotus-Renault team in the Friday Practice sessions of the 2011 Abu Dhabi and Brazil Grand Prix.
The Abu Dhabi race weekend will take place on November 13, 2011 at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Recently, the team Renault announced that GP2 Series driver Grosjean will take part for them in the last two rounds during the Friday free Practice sessions and after that, the team will evaluate his performance for 2012 F1 season just in case if their injured
driver Robert Kubica cannot return to the team.
The French added that it is always difficult for him to be 100 percent ready for Formula 1 and it is really a big step compared to everything else, but now he is completely ready as compared to past years.
Grosjean commented, “But it helped me become stronger and different, and it helped me become what I am today. The GP2 season has been very good and shows I improved myself in some areas where I was maybe not as strong as I wanted. For sure, when I get back
in an F1 car we will see things in a bit of a different way.”
He also mentioned that he thinks he will get in the car with a big smile this time, try to enjoy as much as he can in every lap of the practice sessions and give his best feedback to the team.
The GP2 Series driver went on to mention, “Every time you get in a car it is an audition – even when you are established. You have to do the best you can, and they [the team] will look deeply at what I am doing.”
On the other hand, the team is struggling for its best possible finish in the ongoing season. After taking part in the 17 rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season so far, the Enstone-based outfit is placed at the fifth place with 72 points in the constructors’
championship.
Let’s see how Grosjean performs in the Friday Practice sessions of the Abu Dhabi and Brazil race weekend for Renault.
