Romain Grosjean says he will have no rookie excuse in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has said that he is no more a rookie in the sport after 2012 and will have no excuse to give for making any mistakes in the 2013 Formula 1 season.
Grosjean rejoined F1 with the Enstone based team in this season and was considered as one of the most talented youngsters. Moreover, he performed quite convincingly in the first few races and attained some competitive results for his team.
However, he struggled in most of the races in this season and faced a lot of criticism over his harsh driving style due to which many accidents happened, resulting in the retirements of many drivers. Furthermore, he received many penalties and was even banned
by FIA to take part in one of the grands prix.
Nonetheless, he has expressed that he has learnt a lot from his mistakes in this season and is positively looking forward to come up stronger in the next year.
Besides, he said that he had an excuse for his errors in this season, but in the coming year, he will have no reason left to make any kind of mistake on track. Therefore, he insisted that he is eying to come up stronger and more responsible as a driver.
“It has been a very interesting first season, with some great moments, and some tough ones,” Grosjean said. “On the whole, if people had told me I was going to have three podiums and end up eighth in the overall ranking, I'd have taken that. For my second
season, I won't be a rookie anymore and I want to learn from my mistakes and also continue what I've been doing right.”
He also said that he is aiming to attain better results for his team in the next season and will try to give his due input in the car’s development process.
“My goal will be to be satisfied with myself as often as I can, to have the best races possible for me and for the team,” he added.
Let’s see how the Frenchman performs alongside his teammate, Kimi Raikkonen in the next year.
