Romain Grosjean says there is a strong possibility for a good result in Hungary – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has said that there is a strong possibility for them to secure a good result in the 2013 Hungarian Grand Prix after delivering an impressive qualifying performance.
Grosjean performed really well in the qualifying at the Hungaroring and managed to secure third grid slot for the race behind Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes and Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing. The Frenchman said that although they could have challenged
Vettel in the qualifying, Hamilton had a very good pace. Furthermore, he stated that the conditions will be hot during the race, therefore they can attain good results.
Moreover, he said that the tyre strategy will play a great role in this weekend’s race. However, he insisted that they can surely score competition points if they work hard to get everything right.
“Lewis set a very quick time, but we're not too far from Sebastian and anything could happen in the race depending on the tyres,” he said. “The race is very long tomorrow and it's hot so we will see what we can do to get the best result. I think tomorrow
will be very open and a lot will depend on strategy, traffic and things like that, so if we can put everything together there's strong possibility for a good result.”
Besides, he said that he is quite happy with his performance in the qualifying and admired the efforts of his team for providing him a competent car.
“It has been a good weekend so far and I have been working pretty hard with the team to try and get the best from the car,” he added.
In addition, he stated that he is expecting a tough fight with Hamilton and Vettel in the race. Nonetheless, he asserted that he is positively looking forward to perform well for his team and is aiming to attain good result to make his position stronger
in the title fight.
At present, he is standing at 8th position in the drivers’ championship with 41 points. Moreover, he is ahead of Paul di Resta of Force India and behind Felipe Massa of Ferrari. Let’s see how he performs in the season ahead.
