Romain Grosjean still feels positive about his future in Lotus – Formula 1 news
Romain Grosjean has said that the talks about his future in Lotus are on the right track and he is hoping that everything will go well for him.
Grosjean impressed everyone with his superb performance during the start of 2012 Formula 1 season as he attained some competitive results for his team. However, he has not been able to score points on consistent basis for his team due to which he has not
been able to secure his race seat for the next season until now.
Furthermore, he has faced immense criticism over his rough driving style because of which many accidents happened during the year.
The most severe accident by the Frenchman was the collision in the opening lap of Belgian Grand Prix which caused the retirement of Lewis Hamilton of McLaren, Sergio Perez of Sauber and Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
On the other hand, his teammate, Kimi Raikkonen who came back to F1 in this season with Lotus has performed incredibly well. He secured third place in the drivers’ championship with one race victory which he secured in the Abu Dhabi GP. Moreover, he scored
points with inspiring consistency and successfully managed to secure his race seat at the Enstone based team for the next season.
Conversely, Grosjean’s future is still uncertain at the British squad. Additionally, there are many speculations that he may lose his race seat and will be replaced by some other driver in the next season.
Nonetheless, he has expressed that he is still positive about his future and is hoping to race with Lotus in the coming year.
“Things are on the right track,” Grosjean is quoted by L'Equipe 21. “I hope all goes well and that I will be able to make use of what I accomplished this year.”
In addition, he said that he has learnt a lot from his mistakes in this season which will surely help him in improving his driving skills in the future. Besides, he said that he will definitely try to perform better in the next season if he gets a chance
to stay at Lotus.
