Romain Grosjean uncertain about his future at Lotus – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has said that he is still uncertain about his 2013 race seat at his current team but is not feeling concerned about his future.
The Enstone based team has extended the contract of their driver, Kimi Raikkonen for the next season after the Indian Grand Prix. However, they have not expressed anything regarding Grosjean’s future in the team.
Although, the Frenchman has said that he doesn’t know about his race seat at his team for the coming year, but he is feeling optimistic about his future as he has developed a very good relationship with the British squad and has tried his best to perform
well in the season so far.
Furthermore, he said that he is trying his best to improve his pace so as to attain competitive results in the remaining three grands prix. Besides, he said that he is not worried about his future and is just focussing to come up stronger in the forthcoming
races.
“To be honest I have no idea,” Grosjean said. “I think with the team we're happy together, they've put a lot of confidence in me and a lot of faith when it was a bit harder time. I showed them that I'm working and improving and trying to work out all the
problems we had while still keeping the speed, so there's no reason that it goes bad for the future.”
In addition, he said that they have unfortunately missed some chances to claim victories in the season until now. Nevertheless, he said that they are not feeling upset and are positively looking forward to perform well in the approaching races.
“I think we had some good opportunities, for many reasons we didn't manage to get them, but it was not the aim or the objective of the year,” he added.
The French driver has caused many accidents in the season so far and has faced immense criticism over his aggressive driving style. Even so, the team principal of Lotus, Eric Boullier has supported their driver and said that the 26-year-old has learned a
lot from his mistakes.
