Romain Grosjean of Lotus says that it was ‘a dream come true’ to secure the third position for the 2012 Australian Grand Prix starting grid which is going to held at Albert Park, Melbourne.
Grosjean has surprised everyone after his superb drive at the qualifying where he set the third best time of 1 minute and 25.302 seconds, following the two McLaren drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.
The spell-bound performance of Grosjean has marked the first race support for the youngster from the time of his unfortunate debut in Formula 1 back in 2009, in which he was dropped after seven races by his team, Renault.
Moreover, Grosjean said that he was unaware of what to hope from the qualifying during the morning but he was extremely pleased after hearing about the third position. Furthermore, he said that one should believe in one’s dream.
“Today is like a dream come true,” Grosjean said. “I only really discovered the Albert Park circuit in the dry this morning and I didn't know what to expect. When I heard my position over the radio I just could not believe it. This third position shows one
thing: you must believe in your dreams and hold on to them, whatever happens.”
In addition, he said that only few people had trust in him after his career’s opening three years ago.
Nevertheless, he said that they had made great efforts to take a new start while he said that he was very pleased with his performance which had given him a very good start for the season ahead.
Besides, he expressed an immense gratitude for his team for giving him a competent car E20 for the forthcoming championship. Additionally, he said that he still needed to work hard as the points could only be scored in the race while he hoped for the best
for the upcoming season.
“I will not get carried away because, as the saying goes, you don't score any points on a Saturday. We all know that Melbourne can be a very tricky race. I hope we can keep going like this all season long,” said Grosjean.
