“Honda is a true professional but he needs forget the transfer talks for now.” The president was quoted as saying.
Babaev revealed that Honda needs to keep his head down and forget about the transfer. He admitted that the veteran midfielder would join a top club in the near future.
Speaking on the transfer saga, the Eagles athletic director, Igli Tare, said:
“The main dispute was carried on the price of the player, not the method of payment. I am disappointed with the situation.”
Honda, who joined the Russian outfit from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VVV-Venlo-c40915, failed to continue his blistering Russian Premier League form after his promising debut campaign. Consequently, he has failed to claim a starting berth under the Koni manager,
Leonid Slutsky.
The arrival of Ahmed Musa and Pontus Wernbloom from VVV-Venlo and AZ Alkmaar, respectively, had further hastened his wish to depart.
Honda had himself revealed that he is likely to leave the Luzhniki stadium during the upcoming transfer window. Though he had other lucrative offers during the January transfer window, he ranked Lazio above other clubs.
“I hope that I can go to Lazio. Talks between the clubs have reached a decisive stage. I think that everything can be solved in the final hours." Honda had said.
According to some senior analysts, Honda's decision to leave the Moscow-based club was harsh. The Koni are enjoying a good domestic campaign along with a promising UEFA Champions League tournament, this season.
