When the Romans conquored new lands, did they take slaves to either serve in their land, or to send to other parts of the empire? Eg: The military invades a town, they take slaves, transport them back to other main Roman cities to sell etc?

  1. yes they did the Romans intermarried with the people from the countries they conquered

  2. umm they sure did . . . did you watch gladiator?

depends how solid you need the evidence to be. The point i was trying to imply was the Colosseum. You can use that to imply that it was an event based on slave trade because of its architecture; its cells, in which you imprisoned  people.

This would then create the need for slaves and in a society like the Romans , slaves from within the empire would have been limited. so naturally they sort them from outside. hence you can accurately make the assumption.

  3. Slaves were something normal at this age .. all over the world... to mix people together.
