Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has once against expressed his unhappiness at the lack of first team football at the London club. The 29-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 international has been at White Hart Lane since 2008 but has never really had the opportunity
to establish himself as the first choice striker.
The former Spartak Moscow forward criticised manager Harry Redknapp for his indecisiveness, which had kept Pavlyuchenko at the club for so long. He felt it was Redknapp’s claims that he had a chance at Tottenham Hotspur that could very well have cost him
his spot in the upcoming 2012 Euro.
Pavlyuchenko said while speaking to reporters:
“I don't believe I can fight my way into the Tottenham starting line-up.
Players can feel what the manager thinks about them, and I know that the manager doesn't count on me these days.”
Despite not giving him a chance in the English Premier League, Redknapp has stated on countless occasions that he believes Pavlyuchenko has the potential to be a top striker at the club. This has led the player to stay and work hard in an attempt to try
and pave his way into the first team.
However, he has only managed to get as far as earning a place in the starting line-up for the Carling Cup. This season the Russian forward has only been awarded two substitution appearances in the Premier League, something he is clearly not happy with.
He revealed:
“I don't know whether Redknapp is telling the truth when he says he doesn't want to lose me. I guess he is not telling the truth.”
The striker revealed he felt he had been cheated by the English manager, who was giving him mixed signals regarding his position at the club. While at one hand, Redknapp claimed he wanted Pavlyuchenko, he did not give him the opportunity to prove himself.
Pavlyuchenko continued:
“I don't know whether the club will execute that option [to sell me], but a good offer would definitely be considered.”
Pavlyuchenko admitted he was ready to part ways with the London club if the right offer came along. He said he was even willing to leave on a loan move if it meant he would be guaranteed regular first team football by his new club.
