Roman Pavlyuchenko will repay Spurs fans.
After a difficult start to his Tottenham Hotspur career, Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has admitted that he is starting to find the form that saw him move to the club.
The striker now believes that he can repay the White Hart Lane support with lots more goals. The striker has featured far more regularly under Harry Redknapp this season than in previous years.
The player has faced stiff competition from Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch and the arrival of Rafael van der Vaart has allowed for Tottenham to play one lone striker, but Pavlyuchenko has flourished so far this season.
"The fact that I didn't play for almost six months wasn't pleasant. But when you have a chance to prove yourself you must do it," he told
Sky Sports News. "You just have to wait for your moment and score goals. If I scored every time I would be in the team all the time, no doubts."
"I hope this year it won't be the same story. To be honest, in the last year when I didn't play much I had thoughts about returning to Russia," he said.
The Russian striker has had a great start to this season and admits that the fans helped him through the last few seasons.
"Now I do not want to move back. Indeed it [the fans' support] is very helpful," he added.
“All the time when I come out on the pitch I have thoughts to pay back the fans by scoring a goal. Tottenham fans are something special to me. I really fell in love with them and probably will always love them.”
Pavlyuchenko has scored four goals in 10 games so far this season and hopes that he can repay the supporters with more goals.
"I'm very thankful to them and will respond to this with more goals and good play
