http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130: UEFA Champions League
Rubin Kazan recently lost the first leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifier against Olympique Lyonnais by a 3-1 margin. Rubin captain, Roman Sharonov, believes that the Tatary were tactically beaten by Les Gones away from home.
Sharonov lamented the team performance by revealing that the Volzhane conceded bizarre goals against Lyon. The defender highlighted that Rubin started the game well by scoring the opening goal against the former Ligue 1 champions but were tactically outplayed
by the host team.
“Rubin faced tactical failures, playing three central defenders, still we did not escape the positional errors. Lyon made interceptions and were very dangerous on counter-attacks” the Russian Super Cup winner was quoted as saying.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Terek-Grozny-c39225 player revealed that Rubin made a lot of defensive mistakes by providing Lyon strikers with extra room near the penalty area.
The Russian Cup winner heaped praise on Lyon star midfielders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kim-c20955 Kallstrom, insisting that the players was terrific against them. Bastos provided an excellent assist to the French national, Bafetimbi Gomis, for the equalizer at Stade
de Gerland. Sharonov believes that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 player played a vital role in Lyon’s success
“Bastos and Kallstrom were brilliant on the pitch. They blocked our way to attack and made healthy contributions to their team by controlling the ball. Players in Lyon have a wide range of passes. Kallstrom, however, played fantastic long balls onto the
footsteps of their fast paced forwards.” Sharonov concluded.
Sharonov highlighted that Rubin head coach, Kurban Berdyev, had warned the Tatary about Lyon’s experience in Europe, and the fact that they need to play quality football in order to claim a victory over the former Coupe de http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 winners.
The Russian stopper admitted that Rubin lacked pace as compared to Lyon and were the second best team on the pitch.
The former FC Metallurg Krasnoyarsk player urged his teammates to give the travelling team a tough time when they host the outfit at Tsentralnyi Stadion.
