The Russian midfielder, along with his agent, has denied a proposed transfer to Dynamo Moscow after leaving the defending Russian Premier League champions this January
Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Shirokov-c31645, has denied the rumours that he wants to end his spell with the defending Russian Premier League champions after joining Dynamo Moscow during the January transfer window.
Earlier media reports flashed that the Shirokov is likely to leave the St. Petersburg club this winter. According to rumours, Dynamo showed interested in the 31-year-old after offering him a lucrative three-year contract with reportedly 3.5 million Euros annual
salary.
Reports in addition suggested Shirokov, whose contract is valid until next summer, is set to leave before the end of his contract given that the management is seriously thinking about shaping up the entire squad courtesy to the team’s unsuccessful campaign
so far.
Shirokov’s agent, Arsene Minasova, strongly denied the speculations linking his client with the Moscow-based club, insisting that no team approached him with any proposal or an offer.
Minasova went on to tell that the Dinamiki are not the kind of club that can meet his client’s big ambitions. He further added that why Shirokov will leave the defending champions for a mid-table team.
Rumours started to flow after Shirokov was named the best player in the Russian championship (2012) on Wednesday.
It is true at the end of the last season, a tug-of-war started between Luciano Spalletti and Shirokov after the Italian tactician widely criticized the Russian Cup winner in front of the public following his below par performances.
But the details of the conflict become known to public after Shirokov refused to shake hands with Spalletti after being substituted in the UEFA Champions League tie against Malaga CF at Petrovsky stadium.
Consequently, the former FC Khimki man spent next few match on bench courtesy to his rude behaviour.
But then, perhaps, the incident was settled down between them and Spalletti started to praise Shirokov after the player widely impressed against Spartak Moscow and Anzhi Makhachkala respectively.
If speculations are to be believed, Spalletti is keeping tabs on Anzhi’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RSC-Anderlecht-c40394 last summer. In case the news are true, Shirokov might find it difficult to get more playing time on the pitch.
