Roman legions numbers?

in the siege of jerusalem by titus (70 ad)

if titus had only four legions which should have been about 20,000 men in total, why did he have 60,000 men? surely the auxiliary cohorts werent that large

  2. I haven't seen anything stating Titus only had 4 legions. However, I do know that Vespasian was also sent by Nero to quell the the rebellion and assist Titus. He had a few legions at his disposal too. I'm sure if you add up the legions between Titus and Vespasian, they will equal to around 60,000 men.
