  1. do u mean noodly things?

Answer - well don't put eggs in it yuck, it's good without the eggs

  2. Do you mean ramen  noodles? It is a Chinese soup, so you scramble 1 egg & when the noodles are almost done, you stir it into the soup, Kind of like egg drop soup w/noodles.

  3. I think you mean ramen noodles, which we call saimen.  It is really hard to say if you are going to think it is "gross" or not because it comes in so many different flavors to begin with (chicken, beef, shrimp, cajun, etc).  Then on top of that, it is up to you and you only what you want to add to it (if anything at all).  In answer to your egg question, that is just a matter of personal preference.  Just to give you an idea of how varied this dish can be served, check out just a few suggested recipes...

    Saimin

    Ingredients:

    1 bag saimin noodles

    Few slices kamaboku,

    Diced Spam Chopped green onions

    Shoyu, pepper

    Your favorite style furikake

    Cooking Instructions:

Follow directions for saimin (boil water, add saimin but not before you crush noodles in the bag, cook 1 minute.) Add spam, then kamaboku, then season with shoyu and pepper. Add green onions, cook few minutes and sprinkle furikake to your desire! Crack one egg in while cooking if you like.

    Saimin

    Ingredients:

2 Packages of Maruchan noodles-pork flavor, or Top Ramen

    1/2 c. sliced Chinese sausage

1/2 c. sliced Kamaboko steamed fish cake

1/4 c. chopped green onion 2 Boiled eggs chopped

    5 c. water

    Shoyu to taste

    Cooking Instructions:

Bring 5 cups of water to a boil. Add all ingedients. Cook until noodles are done. Add shoyu to taste. Serves (2)

    Hawaiian Style Saimen

    Ingredients:

    1 pkg Saimin

    1/2 lb Chashu, sliced

2 med Japanese cucumbers, thinly sliced

    1/2 lb Bean sprouts

    3 Eggs

    1 Tbsp Sugar

1 tsp Salt Sauce - Combine

    3 Tbsp Soy sauce

    2 Tbsp Sugar

    1 Tbsp Sesame oil

1/2 C Dashi or chicken broth

    Dash Salt

    Cooking Instructions:

Cook saimin as per package instructions; set aside. Combine eggs, sugar and salt, fry in thin sheets; slice in strips. Combine all ingredients and serve with sauce. Garnish with Chinese parsley. Serves 4-5.

See what I mean?  The was to serve saimen (ramen to those on the mainland) are endless.  Just be creative and enjoy!

  4. This is like a dish my grandfather used to make called Yok.  He would boil the noodles with a couple of hard boiled eggs (put them in the same pot and boil at the same time) . When the eggs were finished cooking, he would take them out and peel them.  Drain the noodles, add the seasoning and toss with a little soy sauce.  Then he would cut up the boiled egg, place it on top of the noodles and serve with fried or baked chicken wings and ketchup.

    Sound weird, but it's delicious!

  5. I always put one  beaten egg in right after the noodles are soft.  It is very good.  You can also add diced chicken, beef, or shrimp.
