Romanovs??

Question

After they were killed, what happened to their wealth? I recall an article saying that Tsar Nicholas ll was a billionaire and his wife, Empress Alexandra had hundreds of diamonds & jewels.

So what happened to their wealth & property after they were murdered?

All their possessions were taken by the Bolshevik Revolutionists (Lenin) under the motto that it would be given back to the people, but it didn't end up with the (general) people.

Some of it eventually ended up in musea, like the Fabergè eggs that Nicholas collected and there's still a whole wealth of treasures in the Kremlin but no one really knows how much it is.

I'm sure the revolutionaries took it and the rest went to the "state" (or what became the state). When I went to Russia we visited the Hermitage and one of the summer palaces (which was really destroyed in WWII but restored, the one with the Amber room) and Peterhof palace. It's amazing that they did not revolt sooner seeing the opulence of the court while the masses were so very poor. Honestly I think it's like that everywhere.

The government probably stole it, or maybe they scattered among the people, who scraped and took it (like in the 1997 Anastasia movie)

the government and the hundreds of relatives took the money and some of the jewels, and some of the jewels were put inside the corsets of the grand duchesses, and they were like kevlar(sp), and some believe this made the grand duchess anastasia was alive for a while.
