Question:

Romantic Honeymoon Destinations?

I am getting married on 04/24/2009. My fiance and I are searching for a romantic honeymoon destination. Preferrably a beach destination that offers seclusion as well as plenty of activities. His only request is "white sand and crystal blue water". Any ideas? We have considered Hawaii as well as the Carribbean. Thanks in advance!

  1. Hi there,

There are so many options in the Caribbean it can be very hard to find what you are looking for.

I would suggest you work with a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) that is a Destination Specialist (DS) for the Caribbean.  They can work with you depending on your likes, wishes and budget to find the perfect honeymoon location.

    Good luck with your search!

  2. If you want an absolute one-of-a-kind romantic honeymoon destination, French Polynesia is your best choice, hands down. French Polynesia consists of Tahiti and her islands, (Moorea, Bora Bora, Rangiroa, etc...).

Great food, unique views, plenty of activities for the adventurous, seculsion and wonderful romantic experiences, and your fiance's requests would be not only met but blown away. The region has some of the most fabulous views and vistas of any destination I've seen.

I took my wife there for our honeymoon...no regrets! Would go back in a heartbeat.

Here are a few hotel/resort properties to check out: http://www.kiwicollection.com/luxury-hot...

May I recommend Bora Bora and Moorea as absolute must-visits.

Best wishes for your wedding and honeymoon!

  3. We were married in Jamaica..>BEAUTIFUL!!! Any of the resorts would be nice I am sure

  4. I am a Travel Agent specializing in destination travel as well as honeymoons.  Based on my knowledge and understanding of what the two of you are looking for I would highly suggest the Caribbean.  I don't really have any particular island in mind but I would suggest a Sandals All-Inclusive Resort.  You would probably prefer Bahamas, Negril Jamaica or Antigua the island of 365 beaches.  Sandals is for adults ages 18 and older only and yes, it is an all-inclusive resort.  This means you pay one price for virtually everything. All meals, rooms, entertainment, alcohol, pools, games, and tons of watersoprts are included in your package.  I think it is always nice to not have to worry about money once you get to your destination and all-inclusives help you do that.  Another amenity provided by Sandals is that if you stay at one resort you can be transported to another Sandals resort to play and eat there also.  This gives you alot of freedom and plenty more choices.  Once added bonus to booking a Sandals honeymoon is the honeymoon registry.  You simply plan your trip and your friends and family can go online to contribute to paying for your trip or even pay for spa treatments and room upgrades.  I highly recommend you check out sandals website and start exploring all their resorts and what they have to offer.  It is the honeymoon of a lifetime and you will be soon thinking that it is too good to be true.

  5. jamaica or hawaii....they both gr8

  6. Take a look at Curacao... it's out of the way of hurricanes (always a good thing), not as big a "name" as Bahamas, Aruba, USVI, etc...

    And BEAUTIFUL.

  7. Check out St. Martin/Marteen.  It has a French side (more European) and a Dutch side (more American) - you can literally drive around the entire island in about 40 minutes.  It's our favorite destination and April/May would be a perfect time of the year.  Jamaica is very nice, but I found you were more smothered by the locals when out and about than I did when we were in St. Martin.
