Romantic Niagara falls getaway?

Question

For my boyfriend's birthday I want to surprise him with a trip to Niagara falls (Canadian side, we live in Toronto) but im unsure about everything. Any suggestions for hotels? Ive seen the brock and sheratan but thats it and what about restaurants? I dont want something too gourmet but something classy.

For a romantic Niagara getaway I would recommend Niagara On The Lake instead of Niagara Falls. NOTL is a small town on the Niagara River just a short drive from Niagara Falls. It's a great town for a romantic get away and it's very classy. Lot's of unique stores to shop at and lot's of wineries in the area. It has a lot of expensive restaurants. The Harbour House Hotel is a great place to stay. It's located near the downtown shopping area and it has views of the Niagara River and the NY side of Niagara. It's ranked has one of the best inn's by Trip Advisor. The reviews on Trip Advisor are great.

If you would prefer to stay in Niagara Falls, I would recommend the Marriott Fallsview Hotel. It has good views of the falls and a restaurant in the hotel, but I would reccomend eating at restaurants that aren't in the hotel because the hotel restaurants charge a ridiculous price. Most of the restaurants in Niagara Falls are fast food or burger places like Denny's / TGI Fridays.

Also, if you've never been to the American side of the falls, you might enjoy a day trip to the Niagara Falls state park on the New York side. It's a lot quieter than the Canadian side and it's nice to experience the falls beside nature. It also has great views of the Canadian side hotel skyline and Cave of the Winds is a great experience. You currently do not need a passport to enter the U.S.

the marriott fallsview is a great place to stay. you can get deals for 2 day or 3 day getaways online or by contacting them.   rooms overlooking the horseshoe falls is beautiful. their restaurant overlooks the falls from every table.  there are other hotels that have their restaurants way up high like the skytower;  just go online to niagara falls.com and see what deals there are.
