  1. How about at the Southwest School of Art and Craft in their garden on the river?  Or in the courtyard of the McNay Museum?    Have you considered the eating place at the top of the tower?  Or while walking in the King William area?

You could check the Chamber of Commerce for listings of bed-and-breakfast places, and check on-line for one that looks romantic.

    Best wishes!

  3. For restaurants there are several choices wwhich the San Antonio locals find to be romanitic choices.

    Grey Moss Inn

    19010 Scenic Loop Rd

    Helotes, TX 78023

    Phone: (210) 695-8301

(I gave my wife her engagement ring at this restaurant, persoonally I think all of the other choices on the list are better, but this was what was here many years ago, and it does have a nice country feel.)

The Lodge Restaurant of Castle Hills

    1746 Lockhill Selma

    San Antonio, TX 78213

    Phone: (210) 349-8466

Also nice, my wife and I have been here for anniversaries.  The food is superb, the setting is quiet and intimate, and perfect for a romanic evening.

The Chart House Restaurant in the Tower of the Americas

    www.chart-house.com

    701 S Bowie St,

    San Antonio, TX 78205

    Phone (210) 223-3101

    (great view food is fine)

Las Canarias Restaurant in the La Mansion del Rio

    Las Canarias Restaurant

    112 College St

    San Antonio, TX 78205-1811

    Phone: (210) 518-1063

(This has the advantage of being a great romantic restaurant, and also being on the Riverwalk, which is sort of a traditional place to get engaged in the city or to spend special occasions) (I actually asked my wife to marry me at a quiet place on the Riverwalk, before I gave her the ring at Grey Moss Inn)

    Francesca's at Sunset

    16641 La Cantera Pkwy

    San Antonio, TX 78256

    Phone: (210) 558-6500

(This is a great restaurant, and there is no specific reason it is last on my list, it is a wonderful choice.  If you go here, make sure you get there before sunset, and reserve a table by the window so you can enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the hill country.  The setting is intimate and the food is wonderful.  Also, use valet parking, as the walk from the parking lot can be long.)

A nice place can be along the River, in one of the quieter places, The Southwest School of Art is very nice.

Try these as a place to stay, they are very nice, and located right in the Historic King WIlliam District.  All of them are on or near the Riverwalk, and all are on the downtown trolley so you don't have to move your car.

  4. Well I would say the Emily Morgan for a hotel.  Not sure how you want to propose, quiet or Big bang type?  There is the wedding island on the river boats a the river walk.  The middle of the Alamo.  one of the missions?  The botanical gardens?  Top of the emily morgan hotel?
