I am trying to find a nice, romantic restaurant or cafe in Melbourne that is not too fancy. My boyfriend and I are planning to go out tomorrow night and I really want somewhere nice. But we do not like really fancy places and fancy food. We just want something simple but romantic and it doesn't matter if its a little expensive but not a place that sells a $70 bowl of soup. I've tried looking but I haven't been able to find somewhere that isn't too fancy. I've left it very late but its really important that we find somewhere. I will greatly appreciate any suggestions. Oh and it has to be somewhere in the city.

  1. Khan Mongolian Bar-B-Q Restaurant

    First Floor, 295 Exhibition Street

    9663 7477

  2. McDonalds

  3. Try Thai restaurant at the corner of Punt Road and High Street in Windsor / Prahran. The foods are great and the restaurant is quite empty most of the time (people tend to order their foods over phone mostly here).

  4. Hi Twisted,

Why not take a nice leasurly stroll along, Lygon street with your boyfriend there are plenty of restaurants to chose from and when you and your boyfriend see one you fancy stroll in and have a nice meal together. There are also plenty of restaurants along Southbank and one of my favourites is cafe Mecca (Middle Eastern food) it has outdoor seating and you have a nice view of the Yarra, Flinders Street station and parts of the city. Maybe a little chilly this time of year but you can sit indoors, or you could just make sure you have some nice warm clothes on and because you are with your boyfriend you will not even notice the cool air. Have a nice romantic night and hope all is good.
