My boyfriend and I want to go away somewhere this summer;maybe Hawaii maybe a cruise; but we might have to bring his 9 year old son. If we bring him where should we go? I heard the Disney cruises are really fun for the kids and adults is that true? Any other suggestions? (We're on a budget.)

  1. Las Vegas, its fun for the couples and now its family oriented.

not disney land, its you guy's vacation, and the boy need sto have fun, too, but its mainly your trip, not his.

maybe a day trip to san fransisco or chicago.

*Chicago, the peir, there's shopping and carasils and ALDOs, and a giant Sports and Gaming center; at linclon park theres a beach and you can rent those fab multi-seater bicycles. thats alot of fun for everyone.

I'd say california, the beaches and stuff, but it's alot of walkign and kids get very cranky through all that.

A ski lodge in Colorado, with lessons for the kid and hot chocolate in the lodge for you and your hubby.

or take in the culture of New Mexico or arizona, beautiful sunsets, alot of hiking, and cool trinkets to take home.

New York, dangerous, but alot to see,and 24-hour places.

But best of all, CAnada, there toronto, alot to see and shop, and British Columbia, and Montrel, it has the clenest streets, but even though theres a bit of walking, its still a lovely tourist spot.

  2. I would recommend you checking out my site.

You can find what you are looking for with in your budget!

  3. We went on a Disney Cruise for our 10th anniversary with all 4 of our little ones! We thought it would be the perfect way to spend our special day- after all, they are the result of those 10 wonderful years! We had such a blast we can't wait to go back! There is so much to do for all ages, and the 9 year old will most likely not want to ever leave the kids club! I know mine didn't!!! There are so many things you can do as a couple as well, including an adults-only pool, several clubs, a restaurant, etc... So, you can spend lots of time alone, and have fun with his son as well!

  4. cruises are great for families, but if your on a budget Disney is not the best, Try Royal Caribbean, they have a great kids program and are a lot cheaper, we took our kids last month and had a great time with plenty of romantic time while the kids were away

  5. The Disney cruises would be a perfect idea. While the child is out playing on the cruise ship, you can have some alone time with your hubby.  Also, this idea is alot cheaper than Hawai'i.

  6. I would check out carnival cruise lines, they are very affordable and they have "Camp Carnival" for the kids which would give you and your boyfriend some alone time while his son is off having supervised fun. Carnival also offers baby sitting service (for an additional fee) if you and your boyfriend want to go out a night or to for a cocktail after dinner.

I've heard good things about the disney cruises, but from what I've seen they are a lot more expensive than Carnival and you mentioned you are on a budget.

  7. The Disney cruise is not an adult cruise that accomodates children...it is a children's cruise that accomodates adults.

We took the Disney cruise to introduce our daughters to cruising at ages 5 and 7.  They loved the experience.

However, everything is geared towards the little ones. Even the dining rooms are decorated to entertain children.

Of all of our cruises, Disney was not one of the most economical...Carnvial is the most economical.

Consider bringing along a friend for the young man.  The 4th person gets a reduced rate.  That way, you don't have to entertain the young ma 24x7.  You can get a set of the 2-way radios so the kids can have some freedom on the ship and you can get some peace and quite.  The 2-way radios worked great with our 9- and 12- year old on our spring break cruise.

  8. Thats not a romantic getaway....it a family vacation

  9. im sure michael jackson will have some ideas

  10. we have done that and it was with carnival

their camp carnival is great and they are perfect for a budget and they don't skimp on service. been on 2 and have a 3rd planned with the 2 children. they love camp carnival. I would not go on any other ship

  11. Good luck and have a good time but isn't that romantic getaway with a kid kind of like an oxymoron like jumbo shrimp.  I think the Disney Cruise might hit the spot.  Have fun.

  12. If you can afford it, go on a cruise.  Lots of ships have programs for kids where you can leave the kid to play and do group activities (supervised) with other kids.  That way, you'd get some time alone with your boyfriend and still be able to bring his son.

  13. Cruises are definitely perfect for families. Most cruises have an area just for kids. In regards to which cruise line you should choose, it depends on your preferences. Disney cruises might be a little bit more expensive than other cruise lines. It also depends where do you want to go. Please take into consideration of air ticket prices too.

Check out favorite website for cruise deals and information, www.bestcruisespot. They offer great customer service and they guarantee the lowest prices. Ask for Eric, he is really personable.

  14. If your looking at a Cruise I would use the www.ytbtravel.com/gordonsa cruise section to book it there cheap and detail on what the cruise has to offer for the entire family. If you go to Hawaii with your 9 year old child I would go to the Island of Oahu they have the most to offer for everyone. But don't limit your self to only disney cruises most quality cruise have numerous activities for the entire family and a onboard babysitting service that will leave the adults some night time fun.

My travel agent is Mr. Gordon and he's great his number is 808-375-3922.

    Good Luck with your search

  15. "Romantic" and "kid" are mutually exclusive.

  16. My personal choice would be a cruise.

Disney cruises (I've heard) are the top of the line of cruise industry - which is why the price is so high.

My boyfriend and I sail on Royal Caribbean, and we LOVE it!

We don't have kids, but both Royal Caribbean and Carnival do have a kids program (just like Disney does).

His son can do the kids camp, and the two of you can have your romantic time.

Plus, once you pay for the cruise (aside from alcohol, sodas, tips and any souvenirs) you don't have anything else to pay for.  Your entertainment is included.  Your food is included.  Your room is included.  You have nothing to worry about.

No need to rent a car, or figure out where you're going.

    Hope this helps!

  17. Romantic vacation with a kid...isn't that an oxymoron?  HAHA  I too have an 11 year old and know what you're feeling.  I wouldn't expect it to be romantic, but it can still be a fun time.  I would say, possibly a Disney Cruise, Wisconsin Dells is fun, or of course Disney World.  My "friend" and I took our kids to a place called GREAT WOLF LODGE!  It's a huge indoor and outdoor waterpark with tons of things to do within the lodge.  The kids loved it.
