The original bible did mention romantic love.  In the original Greek, Jesus discussed the difference between Eros (romantic love), agape (god's perfect love,) and Famlial love (Brotherly love.)

Some bible publishers, instead of figurinig which word to use, simply put love down.

BTW, have you ever read the song of soloman?  It's got to be the most romantic set of love peoms ever written, and a majority of them are about eros.

Many marraiges were arranged for financial or political reasons, as well as to keep property within certain groups. Rick could fall in love with Tina, but if her family was too poor or not within the same social status of his family (or both), the marraige wouldn't happen.
