Romantsev backs Glushakov to succeed at Spartak and tells Denisov to make decision – Football news
Oleg Romantsev has backed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denis-Glushakov-c10855 to become an instant hit among Spartak Moscow fans and urged Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder, Igor Denisov, to make up his mind should he want to join Anzhi Makhachkala.
“I respect Glushakov’s decision especially because he wants to play at a higher level. He is a good player, and if used correctly, he will be useful for any team in the world. He likes to play behind the striker and I think this role suits him. Denisov’s
signing will surely strengthen Anzhi and weaken Zenit. Igor is sophisticated young man but he needs to make up his mind,” the 59-year-old was quoted as saying.
Glushakov, who has constantly been linked with a move to the St. Petersburg club for the past two years, dodged http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luciano-c22574 Spalletti to join the Moscow-based club earlier this week. He reportedly signing a three-year contract at Spartak.
The 26-year-old Russian midfielder joined Spartak after Lokomotiv failed to claim European berth last term. The Railroaders had a below par campaign beyond any shadow of the doubt as they finished ninth on the league table.
Romantsev is of the belief that Glushakov has all the necessary ingredients to succeed at his new club, stressing that the former Nika Moscow man knows how to give width to the team’s attack.
The former Dynamo Moscow coach went on to comment on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Igor-Denisov-c16694’s possible transfer to the Makhachkala-based club this summer. Romantsev told the 29-year-old to act mature and make a decision sooner rather than later.
News in Russian media suggests that Anzhi are interested in signing the Russian midfielder, who is finding life difficult under Spalletti at Petrovsky stadium.
If speculations are to be believed, Anzhi’s president Suleyman Kerimov has set up a meeting with the player next week. The Russian billionaire wants to speak to Denisov ahead of the player's possible move to Dynamo Stadium (Makhachkala).
According to sources, Kerimov is set to offer Denisov a reported five million Euro annual salary should the St. Petersburg club let the Russian midfielder leave for 12 million Euro transfer fee.
