The former World Player of the Year has shown his appreciation for the Barcelona starlet and has stated that he is currently the best in the world. 
Romario voiced his opinion regarding the Argentine and expressed that he is at the top of the footballing world at the moment. He stressed that the skill and technique that Messi possesses sets him apart from all other professional footballers in the
modern game.
Romario admitted that the audiences all over the world have seen Messi rise over the past few seasons and he is still improving with age.
The former striker, who played an instrumental role in leading his national side to World Cup glory in 1994, was full of appreciation for the Barca number 10 as he emphasized his importance for the current Spanish champions.
