  2. id do 4 in venice and 5 in rome

stay in the hotel flora in venice

its cute and old fasioned and the people are really friendly and its a descent nightly rate

    museums are fun though

if you can go to florence that was my favorite

  3. First thing to do in Venice is to board a water taxi from in front of St Marks Square, a couple of euros, and go straight across to the Church opposite, St Giorgio Maggiore. Into the Church and for one euro you can get the lift to the top of the bell tower, approx 150 ft high. The view is stunning and you can really see how Venice sits in the Aegean Sea and is split by the canals. You look straight across into St Marks Square. Morning is better because the sun is behind you and does not blurr your view, photographs are also better.

In Rome, similar to Venice go to the top of St Peters  Bassilica, part lift to the roof of the main cathedral then stairs to the top, the view is equally stunning, you will be blown away, literally. All the other do's are well documented in the travel books, you cannot go wrong. The compact AA guide is a good pocket one.

  4. Honestly, I would switch your days around, spending 3 days in Rome and 6 in Venice. Venice has a lot more to do and see. You can take a short boat [public transportation] to the island of Murano and see glass blowing, I went in May and the man gave me a blown horse. They're very nice there and it's lovely to go in all the little glass shops. Rome is busier, and there's not much to do besides seeing the ruins. Have fun!

  5. Hi! You can look this link for Roma: http://www.romewelcome.com/monumenti/rom... . This is a very nice site.

or this one: http://www.paesionline.com/europe/italy/... in the left side you can find everythins you need.

    Venezia:

    http://www.paesionline.com/europe/italy/...

    http://www.venicewelcome.com/monuments/m...

These are the best link that I found.

  6. I would also concentrate on Venice.  After the obvious sites in Rome there is little else.  I found a lot more scams and hustling in Rome.  I found parts of Rome very difficult at night.  But they did stay up.

Venice isn't a night spot  Because people live very close together.  Jazz is played a lot, simply as it's sound can be a lot less intrusive.

But Venice is a very safe city.  With good food and a good supply of bars.

Another advantage to Venice is a lot of nearby cities worth visiting, such as Treviso, Padua, Vicenza And Verona.  which has a more complete Roman arena than Rome's Collasium .

  7. good choice spending 6 days in Rome... !!!

well, when in the centre of Rome, you don't need to look for entertainment...

    have fun!!!

  8. have fun

  9. I've never been to Venice, but here are a few tips for Rome:

Dont use the car or bus, the train is much cheaper and quicker, although it is a bit of a hike to get to the land marks.

The colleseum is one of the main attractions, BUT BEWARE OF THE ROMAN SOLDIERS, the WILL scam you!! It is a long wait to get inside, so reserve your tickets online, if you dont like queues!

Saint Pauls basilica is also very good, but expect long queues with little shade. The cistine chaple is a must, although you do have to walk through an art gallery to find it!!

There are also some good ruins around the colleseum, they are free and there are very little visitors to them. The Panteon is worth a visit although there is very little to see, there are alot of nice resteraunts around it! I think you should spend linger in Venice as I spent 3 days in Rome and that was fine!!
