Rome or Burton?

I'm looking into getting a new snowboard and narrowed my choices down. Which board would you rather get -- a Rome Agent or Burton Custom? I know there are Burton haters out there, but they put out a quality product.

  1. BURTON!!! xp

  2. Rome all the way man!!! artifact is crazzy for butters!

  3. Ride them both and buy the one that you feel most comfortable on.  Don't worry about graphics and all that when you are riding your board is typically covered with snow anyway.

  4. i've only been boarding for three years.and don't know all too much about who's the best.  I'd go with burton just because i love mine.  Burton has always had good quality and always will.  My friend says some people don't like burton just because they are the best and well known.  maybe, maybe not.  You go with what you like and is right for you.

  5. I own a 2003/2004 Burton Custom 156 and have been

riding that board all over the place: Vail, Heavenly, Whistler

and some local small hills and parks.  Throughout the past

few years, the board has gone through its share of nicks

and dings from riding rails and crashing into them, so there

are a lot of visible imperfections, but the performance is

still top notch.  (note: Burton is notorious for having a very

    fragile top sheet......so annoying.)

I'm not much of a Burton fan, but if you can afford it and

you're looking to do just about everything with your board,

Custom is your board.  Burton really hit it right with Custom,

and it's becoming their signature board each year.

Believe me, I've taken my board to everywhere from

some waist-deep powder in Vail to the sickest terrain

park in Whistler and felt it was very adequate (and

some more) for every part of the mountain.

If I were you, I would go with a Burton Custom.

Rock solid and you'll also get the envy from your friends

although they won't admit it.  :-)

    Good Luck!

  6. Both these boards are great, the Rome Agent was the best selling board in the world last year and for a company that is only 6 years old thats quite impressive. Ive also heard that the Burton Custom is the best selling board of all time and is the most well known board in Burtons range. The Agent is more of a freestyle board than the Custom and is one of the few boards that performs really well in the pipe and on rails, it can be ridden for all types of terrain but wont be so good in powder. The Custom is a true all mountain board and has no real weaknesses but wont be quite as good in the Park as the Agent. In fact a Rome Anthem is a more similar board to the Custom, in fact it was rumoured that they are in fact spec wise the same board but im not sure if thats true or not?. But i think the guy who originally designed the Custom, was one of the guys who left Burton to set up Rome six or so years back. Anyway both these boards are really good but if you are after a freestyle board go for the Agent, if you are after an All mountain board go for the Custom or maybe even the Anthem, Good Luck.

  7. Rome was started by 2 ex-Burton board designers both companies make great boards. Go with the most affordable one.

  8. DUDE ROME is better for JIBBING.  I have a burton custom from 2003 and it is the sickest sickest deck I have ever ridden. I ride all mountain pipe jibs big booterz backcountry .  Dude the custom does it all.    Indestructible, super poppy , built to last.    Why do you think burton is the most trusted and well know name in snowboarding, B/C they have the best gear.   I also have the new cartels on my custom with the mismatch color.  SO SICK DUDE go with the custom

  9. i try to boycott burton + romes are sick. the choice would be almost too easy for me.
