Young Chelsea forward http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romelu-Lukaku-c31672 has revealed he is not too happy at Stamford Bridge and will discuss his future with the next manager at the club.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 international transferred to the English Premier League giants in the summer transfer window of 2011, but after a year he has been unable to secure a place in the first team under both Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Di Matteo.
When he first joined, Andre Villas-Boas was the manager at the club but was sacked mid-season and replaced with interim manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo. However, that did not change things too much for Lukaku since both the managers preferred experienced players
up front.
The Belgium international has been left frustrated with his first season at Chelsea and wants to now speak to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager regarding his future at the club. Even though he was not satisfied with his lack of inclusion in the squad, Lukaku revealed
his future lay with the London club.
Lukaku said while speaking to reporters:
“I will need to talk to the coach about my future. I hope for a coach next year who gives chances to young players, not like last year. If he does not want to talk to me, then I'm considering a loan.
But at the moment my focus is on Chelsea. I will go with them on summer tour and I hope to get some new chances.”
Lukaku made just 12 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, with eight of those coming in the English Premier League. He was unable to score for the Blues, but does have an assist to his name. He will expect either a loan move or more involvement in
the upcoming season.
He revealed:
“Last year I played a game, then nothing for three weeks except games with the reserves and then I was on the bench. That is not easy for a young player. I also said that to Chelsea and they understood my concerns.”
That however, depends entirely on who will take up the manager’s position at the club. It seems highly likely that Roberto Di Matteo will not be given a permanent contract even though he led the Blues to their first ever UEFA Champions League trophy.
