Romelu Lukaku’s agent rules out any move to Barcelona – report
The agent of the Belgian side Anderlecht’s striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romelu-Lukaku-c31672, has made it clear that Lukaku will not join the Spanish giants Barcelona as long as the Belgian club lowers its’ asking price for the player. The agent has admitted that many European clubs
are very interested in signing the promising talent but very few clubs have the financial backing to meet Anderlecht’s huge asking price.
Lukaku’s agent then said that the 17-year-old striker has been monitored by Barcelona but it looks very unlikely that the Catalans would table an offer for the Belgian.
While talking to the media, Christophe Henrotay said, "There are lots of rumours about clubs that are interested in signing Romelu. The situation is pretty clear: all clubs from all big European leagues are keen to add him to their squad."
Henrotay further added that representatives from Barcelona did talk to him about the player’s availability but they would look elsewhere if the price is not dropped to at least 6 million Euros. Although Lukaku’s agent admitted that the Belgian will leave
the club this summer, he also highlighted the fact that Lukaku would leave only when the conditions are suitable for both parties.
The player’s agent said, "There's a moment to stay and a moment to move on. It's important for him to continue to develop and make progress. It'll be hard to turn down a good offer this summer. However, he won't leave Anderlecht unless all parties involved
get a good deal."
Lukaku has been attracting interest from top European clubs for over a year now but Anderlecht’s asking price has made many clubs back out as they can’t afford the price for a player who is still developing. Moreover, Lukaku is only 17-years old right now
and has no experience in playing for a big league and neither has the youngster played in the UEFA Champions League on a regular basis.
Last year, he was the top scorer of the Belgian league and since then, sides like Manchester City, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Barcelona have been monitoring his progress. It is yet to be seen where the youngster’s destination would be in the summer transfer window. It
is clear that the wonder kid has a lot of potential which needs to be fulfilled albeit with care.
