If anyone is good with Romeo and Juliet, I need some help.

I need to know WHO said the following quotes and what the meaning of each quote is. Here are the quotes:

1) "And too soon marred are those so early made."

2)"I'll look to like, if looking liking move;

But no more deep will i endart mine eye

Than your consent gives strength to make it fly."

3)"I conjure thee by Rosaline's bright eyes,

By her high forehead and her scarlet lip,

By her fine foot, straight leg, quivering thigh..."

4)"O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?

Deny thy father and refuse they name!

Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,

And I'll no longer be a Capulet."

5)"Within the infant rind of this small flower

Poison hath residence, and medicine power;

For this, being smelt, with that part cheers each part;

Being tasted, slays all senses with the heart."

6)"Wisely, and slow. They stumble that run fast."

(There are more that I'm going to add to other details.)

  1. 9 is spoken by Tybalt when he confronts him right before the death of Mercutio.  Basically he is telling Romeo he hates him.

    17. Is spoken by Romeo when he buys poison.  He is talking about the evil of money and what it does to people.

  2. 1) Lord Capulet:  Marriage too early "mars" the woman married too young.

    2) Juliet:   She will check out Count Paris and see if he trips her trigger.

    3)  Mercutio:  He's calling for Romeo after the masked ball at the house of the Capulets.  He's making fun of Romeo's crush on Roslind.

    4)  Juliet:  She's asking Romeo to deny that he is a Montague, but if he can't do that, to marry her, so she will no longer be a Capulet and his enemy.

    5)  Friar Lawrence:  The herb/flower he's holding up can either kill a person or put them into a deep sleep, depending on the dosage.

    6)  Friar Lawrence:  Walk, don't run (both figeratively and literally).

    7)  Mercutio

    8)  Hot running passions are like gunpowder meeting a spark - they cause an explosion that destroys both the gunpowder and the spark.

    9)  Tybalt:  I have no liking for you, Romeo.  You are vile to me.  In today's slang - Yo, motherf*****

    10) Friar Lawrence:  Romeo needs to get to Juliet fast.  If Romeo is found by the Prince's guard he will be killed.

    11)  Count Paris:  Paris and Juliet accidently bump into each other by Friar Lawrence's cell.  He calls her his wife because Lord Capulet has just agreed to their marriage.

    12)  Juliet:  She's telling Friar Lawerence not to talk to her about the situation unless he can give her a plan to get out of it.

    13)  Lord Capulet:  Juliet is still beautiful in death; a death that has coom too soon to such a young flower of womanhood.

    14)  Romeo:  he says this upon seeing Juliet's "funeral".

    15)  Romeo:  he's questioning his servant about Juliet.  He says that if all is well with Juliet, all is well with him

    16)  Romeo:  His loss of Juliet leads him to suicide, not his own inclination.

    17)   Romeo:  To person selling him poison.  He says the gold he gives the seller is the true poisoner of men.

  3. #1 means that the young have been destroyed early.

    #3 I believe is said by Romeo - he was in love with Rosalyn before he met Juliet; he's describing her beauty.

    #4 is the famous "balcony scene" where Juliet is seeking Romeo, whom she just discovered was in the family of her family's enemy.  She is saying he can leave his family (deny thy father and the name Montegue) or she will deny hers (her last name is Capulet) if he can't as long as he does truly love her.

    #5 is by the priest talking about the poison inside the young plant, when eaten makes one appear dead.

    #6 means to take your time and prepare - rushing will ruin things.

  4. Well it looks like SOMEBODY typed up their homework for others to do for them! HAHA.

    Anyway, I haven't read R&J in about two years, but #4 is obviously said by Juliet.

    What Juliet means by this is that she wants to know who Romeo really is. She's asking him this, and also saying that she is willing to defy her family and his to marry him, so long as he promises that his love is real.

    Sorry I dunno much bout the other quotes, but good luck! I assume these are due tomorrow? LOL
