Romeo Contender and Fabulous Selina joint favourites for Betfred The Bonus King Puppy 480m Trophy
Romeo Contender and Fabulous Selina have been rated as joint favourites for Betfred The Bonus King Puppy 480m Trophy at Nottingham in England on Monday, March 12, 2012. A cash prize of £150 has been set for the winning greyhound.
The 480 metres grade OR event, scheduled to start at 20:52 GMT, has attracted six quality puppies and their names are: Romeo Contender, Fabulous Selina, Expert Gem, Ladsdown Boy, Ballymac Eat and Romeo Alliance.
The bookmakers have given the best odds to Romeo Contender, who has been performing consistently at Nottingham for the past many months. His most recent outing proved to be quite a remarkable one, as he managed to win comfortably by more than one length.
D. Firmager’s trainee was the favourite for that event and he lived up to the expectations of everyone. The distance to cover was not much, so he needed a good start in order to win. He did not have any problems with that and gained advantage right from
the beginning of the event.
No other hound was able to come closer to Romeo Contender after that and he dominated the proceedings. The punters will be expecting him to deliver a similar performance and win today’s race. It will be difficult to place bets against his victory, as he
has the winning momentum and looks quite strong at this venue.
The favourite puppy is the son of Droopys Vieri out of Fabulous Azure and was born in October 2010.
Another puppy trained by D. Firmager, Fabulous Selina, is considered to be equally capable of winning races as Romeo Contender. The former has not been in good form recently, which might discourage the punters from placing bets on her victory. However, she
looks in good shape and might spring up a surprise today.
The black b***h is the daughter of Brett Lee out of Fabulous Jodie and was born in September 2010.
M. Roberts’ trained b***h, Expert Gem, will also have solid chances of winning today. She is in good rhythm at the moment and might cause a few problems for the top two favourites. She is the daughter of Ninja Jamie out of Expert Flash and was born in June
2010.
Ladsdown Boy, Ballymac Eat and Romeo Alliance are also decent runners and anyone of them could end up at the top of the table today, as the competition is quite close at Nottingham today.
