Romeo Gontineac announces Oaks match day squad for their second 2011 Rugby World Cup pool match against the Argentina - Rugby News

The Romanian national rugby union team, commonly known as the Oaks has announced their match day squad for their upcoming 2011 Rugby World Cup (RWC) encounter against the Argentina.  Oaks head
coach Romeo Gontineac announced his team’s squad for their second 2011 RWC pool match on Thursday, September 15.
Romania will take on the Argentina at Rugby Park Stadium, Invercargill on Saturday, September 17.
Gontineac has made four changes to the Oaks starting lineup as compare to their starting xv that took the field against the Scotland on Saturday, September 10 at Rugby Park stadium, Invercargill.
Scotland defeated the Romania 34 – 24, however, the errors committed by the Romanians made the win possible for the Scots.
Gontineac made all the four changes in the backs pack for Oaks weekend encounter against the Pumas.  However, their forwards pack was kept intact following its impressive performance in their
2011 RWC opener against the Scotland.
Oaks captain and hooker Marius Tincu has expressed his desire that his team will give the same level of the performance as they display in the opening match. He added that they are training
hard and making the players realize the pressure.
Regarding Oaks’ backs problem, Tincu said, “We worked on defence, because against Scotland it didn't work, it wasn't collective.”
In the backs, Gontineac has named a new winger, centre and halfback combination. Stefan Ciuntu is dropped from the match day 22 and is replaced by Madalin Lemnaru at the right-winger position.
He will form the winger pair with Ionel Cazan.
Cazan has been moved from the bench in the starting lineup at the right-winger position, where he replaces Madalin Lemnaru. Lemnaru, has been dropped from the match as
Stelian Burcea, comes on to the bench to fill the vacant spot.
Ionut Dimofte will start the match at the inside centre position in place of Constantin Gheara, who is left out of the match day squad.
Following his poor performance in their last weekend’s game in which, he spilt few easy but crucial penalties, fly half Dan Dumbrava, has been dropped to the bench. Tiberius Dimofte at the
fly half position replaces him and he will form the new halfback pair with Florin Surugiu.
The Oaks squad for their weekend encounter against the Pumas consists of
Starting XV: 15 Iulian Dumitras, 14 Madalin Lemnaru, 13 Csaba Gal, 12 Constantin Gheara, 11 Ionel Cazan, 10 Tiberius Dimofte, 9 Florin Surugiu, 8 Daniel Carpo, 7 Ovidiu Tonita, 6 Mihai Macovei,
5 Cristian Petre, 4 Valentin Ursache, 3 Paulica Ion, 2 Marius Tincu (c), 1 Mihaita Lazar.

Replacements: 16 Bogdan Zebega Suman, 17 Silviu Florea, 18 Valentin Poparlan, 19 Daniel Ianus, 20 Valentin Calafeteanu, 21 Marin Dumbrava, 22 Florin Vlaicu.
