Nottingham is to host the Stadium Bookmakers Stayers Trophy - Final over 680 metres on Monday, 26th March. Contesting for the £400 prize money is Monleek Amigo, Jack Relax, Romeo In Flight, Imperial Boy, Head Iton Woodie and Romeo Patrol.
Leading with the brightest credentials is Romeo Patrol, Collision’s three-year-old brindle son out of b***h Fabulous Airport. Out of the seven starts that came his way, Romeo Patrol won three, was third in two, came fourth and was declared not raced during
one of the outings.
His debut race was in the January Midi Dup on 12th January at Henlow over 550 metres. Unable to win it, Romeo Patrol was third in row behind the winner, Deanridge Rage who clocked the distance in 34.07 seconds. The 11/8 favourite of the race,
Aero Majestic, timed the distance in 34.11 seconds.
On 23rd January, Romeo Patrol bagged the very first success of the season by completing the 500 metres race at Nottingham in 30.46 seconds while in lead of 3 ¾ lengths. Finishing the closest to the winner was Romeo In Flight.
The very next start was in the Carling British Bred Standard Trophy on 30th January at Nottingham over 500 metres that the 4/6 favourite, Romeo Patrol, won by reaching the other end of the wire in 30.17 seconds.

The start that could have turned into a hat trick for Romeo Patrol had him finishing fourth. On 13th February, the Betfred Standard Trophy – Heat 3 at Nottingham over 500 metres was won by Rockview Sail who was on the other end of the wire in
