Romeo Patrol to continue with the unprecedented success in the Stadium Bookmakers Stayers Trophy at Nottingham
The Stadium Bookmakers Stayers Trophy will get held at Nottingham over 680 metres flat on Monday, 23rd April. Taking the level of competition to an undefined height is the line-up that comprises of Varra Bruno, Franks Four, Mosquito Pilot, Imperial
Boy, Romeo Causeway and Romeo Patrol. The prize money for the race is set at £200.
The most competitive among the line-up is Romeo Patrol, Collision’s three-year-old brindle son out of b***h, Fabulous Airport. The last time that he lost a race was on 12th March in the Betfred Bingo Standard Trophy at Nottingham over 500 metres.
Romeo Patrol settled third behind the 4/5 favourite winner, Mill Pegasus.
The three-year-old captured all the four races that came his way after 12th March. He has stretched his winning streak to four and today is hoping to take the count up by one more.
Romeo Patrol won the first heat of the Stadium Bookmakers Stayers Trophy on 19th March at Nottingham over 680 metres. He timed the track distance in 42.11 seconds and was entered as the 4/7 favourite. He led the runner up, Romeo In Flight, by
a staggering 11 ¼ lengths.
Concluding the race third was Head Iton Woodie.
Second straight success during the month came on 26th March in the Stadium Bookmakers Stayers Trophy – Final at Nottingham over 680 metres, a distance that the 4/9 favourite settled in 41.86 seconds.
He led the runner up, Imperial Boy, by four and a half lengths who clocked the distance in 42.22 seconds. Finishing the race third behind the winner was Romeo In Flight.
The three-year-old struck a hat trick on 2nd April by taking 42.39 seconds to dominate the Caffreys Grand Prix Trial Stakes at Nottingham. For a second time in a row Imperial Boy took the runner up’s slot after racing for 42.49 seconds.
Keeping firm hold on the unprecedented success, Romeo Patrol won the Universal Office Products Stayers on 10th April at Sheffield over 660 metres. The 6/4 favourite was through the track distance in 39.08 seconds and had charge of the final 5
¼ lengths.
He is in for posting a fifth win in a row but his success will get seriously threatened by Imperial Boy who is seeking to bag a hat trick through tonight’s race.
