  1. That's not easily determined, but, if I had to guess, I would venture that his attitude toward fashion is similar to his opinion of the new style of swordplay--flashy and effeminate. His distaste for new things might translate to a distaste for new fashion, so he's probably making fun of people who wear all the trendy fashions. Mercutio is witty and sarcastic in his attitude toward life in general.
