what does Juliet mean in Act 5 Scen 3 when she says

"I will kiss thy lips.

Haply some poison yet doth hang on them,

To make me die with a restorative. "

i understand what shes doing but what does "to make me die with a restorative" mean? i dont understnad how thats used..i know the translation so dont give me like the site to spark notes or something..i just dont understand why she said that...

  2. If I had to guess, I'd say that she means that dying by drinking Romeo's poison will leave her body and her beauty intact, as opposed to dying by other means.

  3. Perhaps Juliet meant that Death was the "restorative," the remedy of her pain. She's saying she'll die and be reunited with her love, Romeo, therefore relieving the pain of grief and heartbreak.

    A restorative is something that heals, or (obviously) restores, like medication.

    it is her dying.   and resorative mean to restore.  So restore her with death.  Thats what it means.  to restore her soul and love with death is more specific but thats the main answer.  hope this helps!  :] :]
